Mission, Values & Goals

We are deeply committed to supporting underserved communities, enhancing healthcare quality in eastern Taiwan and preparing public health professionals well-versed in humanistic principles, thereby fostering a sense of benevolence and a commitment to volunteerism in our students.

We strongly value life, and believe in nurturing compassion for individuals, and we mirror our University’s principles of ‘Kindness, Compassion, Joy and Unselfish Giving’.

Our department aims to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge for careers in public health and our goals encompass:

  • Training public health professionals that possess good knowledge and ability with willingness to help people in need
  • Preparing public health professionals that are capable of leading teams and conducting impactful public health research
  • Empowering public health leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary for assessing, developing, implementing, and improving projects related to public health
  • Training public health leaders who are culture sensitive, and understand multi-ethnic health issues
  • Conducting research and tackling public health issues in the communities around us.
